SALOBRENA
View
of the Castle
Salobrena is in Southern Spain at the
eastern end of the Costa del Sol. The area known as the
Costa Tropical extends across some of the most beautiful
scenic coastline to be found anywhere in Spain.
Salobrena is built on a large rocky outcrop which rises
majestically from the surrounding tropical plain.
Whitewashed houses cling to the steep hillsides, and
narrow winding streets lead up to the castle. The
Villa is situated about halfway up the "Monte de los Almendros"
which lies 1 mile to the west of Salobrena, and is on a south-facing hillside which rises up from
the coast. The spectacular view has the Mediterranean to the south, Salobrena and lush tropical
plain of sugar cane fields and fruit plantations to the
east, and snow capped peaks and Ski resort of the Sierra
Nevada to the north. Salobrena is just over an hours
motorway drive east from Malaga.
